KLABU Kamp Seedorf World Refugee Day 2023

On World Refugee Day 2023, together with the street artists of Kamp Seedorf we wanted to show our support by honouring the people who we know so well through the KLABU projects.

Discover the 5 murals across Amsterdam, representing Yaman, Emile, Ahmed, Mo, Atia and Hares.

Each person and each mural represents one of KLABU's five clubhouses in KLABU's home base in Amsterdam, and in refugee camps in Cox's Bazar (Bangladesh), Kalobeyei (Kenya), Ter Apel (the Netherlands) and Lesbos (Greece).
You might have read the headlines in the newspapers: 110 million people have now had to flee their homes… This number is so huge and overwhelming that we might sometimes forget that it represents 110 million individuals - people with names, hopes and dreams.

The street art collective Kamp Seedorf, like KLABU, has a strong link with sports and is also known for its immortalization of (sports) heroes. Johan Cruijff and former mayor of Amsterdam Eberhard van der Laan, among others, were previously captured in Amsterdam by the anonymous collective.
